In recent years, we have witnessed rapid progress in research of manufacturing systems. Many important results have been obtained. Very often these
contributions are made through interdisciplinary efforts and collaborations.
The theoretical findings, in turn, have significant impact on various applications. The applications, on the other hand, bring about new and exciting
theoretical discoveries. In the very competitive world, research in manufacturing systems plays an important role in creating and inlproving technologies
and management practices of the economy. The purpose of this volume is to
