In this paper we are mainly interested in DVMs which are symmetric with respect to an exchange of any pair of coordinate axes. On the other hand, this property is not very relevant for certain specific problems (axially symmetric flows). An interesting class of non-symmetric DVMs without additional invariants was recently considered by H. Cornille and one of the authors.
