In addition to the comparison of the Gibbs negentropy G. ln to the Shannon negentropy s, discussed in the cited paper, a comparison of the former to s=s–E i lnE i the decrease in uncertainty, is of general interest from an information-theoretic standpoint. It is shown that G and s are similar in the situation in question. The additivity properties of G are briefly discussed.
