It is pointed out that recent work on the high-frequency behavior of the neutron scattering function S(k, ) in liquids indicates that at fixedgw there is a dip at a value of k very close to the maximum of S(k) (first diffraction peak). This dip is due to the configurational average over pairs of particles and scales as the inverse particle radius.
