This book is devoted to one of the most exciting directions of investigation in
the condensed matter physics field—the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) and
possible applications of this phenomenon in refrigeration technology. For
a long time the effect was used as a powerful tool for investigation of
magnetic materials, especially in the area of magnetic phase transitions
accompanying various spin structure transformations and in low temperature
physics to obtain temperatures below 1 K. It is also convenient for
theoretical simulation in the framework of various models.
