In this book, we consider the kinetic theory of transport and relaxation processes
in reacting gas flows strongly deviating from thermal and chemical equilibrium.
In contrast to existing monographs on the kinetic theory of reacting systems, here
we place the primary emphasis on the study for non-equilibrium distributions of
gas molecules over velocity and internal energy and their effect on gas-dynamic
parameters and dissipative properties of flows.
The development of the kinetic theory for multi-component mixtures of reacting
gases under the conditions far from the equilibrium is essential to reach a solution
for a number of current scientific and technical problems, such as modeling for the
reentry of space vehicles into atmospheres of planets, studies for flows in highenthalpy
facilities and processes in active media of molecular lasers, discharges,
combustion, cleaning of polluted atmosphere, etc.
