Nowak (a senior seminar leader for Langevin Learning Services) believes "exceptional public speaking" requires more than learning a collection of speaking skills. It is the merging of those tools with the "essence of who we are." Basing his work on that belief he offers advice on developing oneself as a speaker, first describing skills such as the use of voice, body movement, and eye contact. He proceeds to more advanced skills, such as the use of frames, stories, and intent listening. He finishes with discussion of how identifying personal values and fears can help speakers move to the level of the "power speaker."
