The Handbook is primarily an application directory instead of a software/ technology catalog. Some contributors sent a description of their control software package and then listed applications. These were not included because a separate entry is required for each application.
A major qualification is that each submission had to have at least one operating installation; not one in planning or being implemented, but completed and operating.
Hardware manufacturers cannot be included unless they have separate advanced control divisions that implement hardware-independent projects. Note that some additional hardware suppliers now meet that requirement.
