Pelz, with a Munich company, describes how to model and simulate systems that integrate electronics, mechanics, and information technology, whether ordinary sized or so small they are called micromechatronic or microelectromechanical systems. He discusses the principles for modelling and simulating electronics and mechanics, simulating mechantronics in particular, the most important constructs of digital and analog hardware description languages, considering software and mechanics in those languages, and case studies that demonstrate the techniques. He writes primarily for practicing engineers, but graduate students and researchers might also find the material interesting.
