Íàçâàíèå: Tribute to a Mathemagician

Àâòîðû: Cipra B. (Ed), Rodgers T. (Ed)

Àííîòàöèÿ:

Synopsis

Some people used to buy Scientific American just to get their hands on the latest Martin Gardner puzzle column, and today Gardner's friends and colleagues honor him every other year at the Gathering for Gardner (G4G) conferences. The contributions here are from the G4G5 of April 2004 and include a series of tributes to puzzle solvers, and challenges such as the Mongolian Interlocking Puzzle, the Three Legged Hourglass, the Absolute Martin, a Golomb Gallimaufrey, upstart puzzles, and puzzle-making tools such as computers. So far, at least one folding paper puzzle from this book has been found to be resistant to the world's cleverest grandchild. The editors include an author index to all three books in the collection (the other two are The Mathemagician and Pied Puzzler and Puzzlers' Tribute).
