Synopsis

Ropper (neurology, Tufts University) seeks to provide readers with the fullest possible understanding of all aspects of neurologic disease, including both clinical and new scientific data. A larger medical context is provided for each category of disease, integrating material on the historical development of ideas about major categories of neurologic disorders, classical clinical-pathologic correlations, and molecular and physiologic processes. While there is still a considerable amount of material on psychiatric syndromes and the major psychiatric diseases, for this edition, material on inherent disorders of personality has been reduced. The seventh edition, 2001, was suggested for initial purchase by Brandon/Hill.
