Spread spectrum and code division multiple access (CDMA) have significant applications in radar, navigation, and telecommunication systems. This textbook about these technologies, written by Ipatov (U. of Turku, Finland and St. Petersburg Electrotechnical U. "LETI", Russia) for postgraduate and undergraduate students, presents the fundamental ideas of spread spectrum and CDMA in a general form equally applicable to systems of collecting and recovering information and telecommunication systems and networks, attempting to maintain a tight connection to classical signal and communication theory.
