This study on the reœption of Cartesianism is the result of a four-year fellowship as assistant-in-training at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Groningen. During my time in Groningen, I was much encouraged by the active support of the staff and students of that faculty, without which it would have been much harder to bring the project to fruition.
