The prestnt edition and translation of the Katha Aranyaka is a diplomatic reprint of the partial printing (Teildruck, Erlangen/Kathmandu 1974) of my thesis (Erlangen 1972). required as a part of the Jnauguraldissertation. No changes have been made in the text of the Teildruck, except for obvious spelling mistakes and small oversights corrected without further indication.
