Название: Hoosier public enemy - a life of John Dillinger
Автор: John A. Beineke
Аннотация:
John Dillinger, the Hoosier Public Enemy, was a fascinating diversion to the citizens of Indiana and the nation during the Great Depression. My parents were youths at the height of the outlaw’s deeds. In 1934 my father was a twelve-year-old paperboy for the Indianapolis News. The newspapers he delivered to homes on the near east side of the city often carried reports of Dillinger’s exploits. These included accounts of the bandit’s escape from the Crown Point jail, visits to the Maywood home of his sister and his father’s farm in Mooresville, and, of course, his numerous bank robberies and getaways.
