This study has grown out of a long-standing interest in the Book of Revelation.
More than twenty years ago I became a member of a church where this book was a major focus of attention, and in fact my earliest involvement in any regular and systematic study of the Bible was as a member of a Bible Class which was painstakingly dissecting the Revelation. It was some years before I discovered that there were other Christians who read it differently. Over the years I became convinced that a satisfactory understanding of this last book of the Bible would have to take into consideration the use made of the Old Testament, and this investigation was, in fact, originally intended to deal specifically with that topic
