Название: The Jewish Self-Portrait in European and American Literature
Авторы: Hans Jürgen Schrader, Elliott M. Simon, Charlotte Wardi
Аннотация:
The emergence of Jews into western society posed serious and complex problems for them and for the Christian population. It brought into close physical contact people who, for the most part, did not know each other, but whose image of "the other" was a product of their over-active imaginations. Whereas Europeans and Americans possessed their own national place, the Jews were unconnected to any specific place, at the same time everywhere and nowhere.
