The greatest joy of my scholarly career has been working on shared projects
with colleagues. It has been a wonderful gift to join Mark DelCogliano,
Ellen Muehlberger, and Bradley K. Storin, as we conceived this series and
brought it, step by step, to this stage. I have learned much from them. For
their diligence, their good humor, and their patience with me, I thank the
