The monograph deals with the two basic, closely related problems: (i) the laser sensing of land high vegetation and phytocenoses of inland waters; (ii) the constructive and technical characteristics of the applied lidar complexes. Emphasis is placed on analysis of preperatory laboratory studies, physico-theoretical aspects of the laser sounding of plants, as well as the development of statistical models which form the basis for the optimal practical realization of this technique.
The monograph is meant for the specialists in the field of environmental ecology and, first of all, for those dealing with the development and application of remote sensing techniques to solve the problems in economy and environmental protection.
