In the 1920s, a strong meditation group, led by the adept Vladimir, regularly gathered in Kiev, Ukraine. In the course of meditations, they received a set of images that included 22 pentacles, 22 letters of an unknown alphabet (close to Devanagari - the Sanskrit alphabet), and 22 Tarot pictures. This small book contains all the pentacles - the most interesting component of the kit. The images of the letters have been lost, but all of the letters are present in the pentacles, so they can be easily recovered. A former member of the group, Vera Diushen, informed me that the accompanying Tarot pictures were not restored by her, but this was not really necessary, since they differed little from the classic Egyptian Tarot. Leading her own groups, she used the well- known classical Tarot cards, which can be found in such manuals of Western occultism as Kurs Entsiklopedii Okkul’tizma [The Course of Encyclopedia of Occultism] by Gregory Ottonovich Mebes also known as G.O.M. (translated into the English as Tarot Majors; refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G._O._Mebes for more on Mebes) and Papus' The Divinatory Tarot. In fact, G.O.M.’s Tarot Majors provides the best foundation for serious work on the pentacles reproduced in this book. However, it should be borne in mind that these pentacles date back to the very ancient Egyptian-Hindu-Pythagorean tradition; therefore, in no case should the strong Judeo-Christian overtones that permeate Western occultism be brought to them.
