I n 2005, we published The Immune Response: Basic and Clinical Principles. Our goal in writing that book was to provide a reference volume that afforded the reader
a solid grounding in the basic concepts of immunology as well as immersion in advanced levels of knowledge close to the cutting edge of research in this field. Now we have written the Primer to The Immune Response, a compact textbook version of the material presented in our first book. Our intention was to create a resource for undergraduates, medical students, and anyone else who wishes to focus on just the immunological essentials.
