This entire volume is an excellent reference for applied mathematicians, engineers and all scientists using numerical analysis as a tool for solving problems. It can be used as well as a basic/supplementary textbook for special topics graduate classes. I think that the editors made a right choice by deciding to collect all important areas of numerical analysis in a single handbook.
