Since 1961 the author, with his collaborators, has studied the problem
of changes in the global climate due to natural factors and man's activities. The results of the studies were set forth in several publications, including the monograph "Climatic Change," published in 1974. Since that
time, many new results have been obtained, which have not yet been tied
together and presented in a monograph. These results support the previously drawn conclusion that a drastic change in global climate toward
warming will occur during the next few decades if modem trends for generating energy continue. Whereas several years ago there were only a few
proponents of this idea, by now their number has greatly increased.
