Germ warfare or biological warfare (BW) can be described as the intentional cultivation or production of pathogenic bacteria, fungi, viruses,
and their toxic products, as well as certain chemical compounds, for
the purpose of deliberately producing disease or death. Portrayed in
such terms the horror of biological weapons is usually thought of as
the intentional exposure of a human population to deadly diseases,
such as anthrax or plague.
