This book presents conceptual design cost estimates for remedial response actions at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. Thirty-five unit operations, covering uncontrolled landfill or surface impoundment disposal sites, were costed in mid-1980 dollars for the Newark, New Jersey area; and upper and lower cost averages for the contiguous 48 states were also prepared. The data in the book are based on a review of pertinent literature with subsequent conversion to a consistent computational framework such that costs of remedial response options can be readily compared.
