Multiobjective programming has evolved in the past two decades into a
recognized specialty of operations research. The attainment of that status
is evidenced by the specialty conferences and symposia that have been
held for discussions on multiobjective programming, vector optimization,
multiple-criteria decision making, and multiattribute problems, all of
which are different names for the same problem area. As the field has left
its infancy and started to mature, the need for a book that brings together
a large number of the several multiobjective methods has become apparent.
