This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 8th Ibero-American Conference on Artificial Intelligence, IBERAMIA 2002, held in Seville, Spain, in November 2002. The 97 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 345 submissions.
