Название: Social Skills Groups for Children And Adolescents With Asperger's Syndrome: A Step-by-step Program (Jkp Resource Materials)
Автор: Painter K.
Аннотация:
This resource is intended specifically to assist clinicians and teachers in treating individuals
with Asperger’s Syndrome (AS) in a group setting. It has evolved over the past several
years and stems from the social skills groups that many graduate students led at Colorado
State University (CSU). I consider myself very fortunate to have been a part of leading
these groups. Their existence began when Lee A. Rosén, Ph.D., the director of the
Psychological Services Center (PSC) at CSU, received a call from a parent of a child with
AS, asking if there were any social skills groups in the community to treat children
with AS. When Dr. Rosén explained to her that there were no such groups in the area, she
suggested that he should start one. Dr. Rosén asked one of his graduate students to lead a
group, and other students were also interested. Dr. Rosén arranged for Karla J. Gingerich,
Ph.D., to supervise these groups, as her area of expertise is in working with individuals
with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs)
