This book benefited immensely from a number of sources. The colleagues
we collaborated with at the country level were Dr. Z. Nyiira in Uganda,
and Boladale Abiola in Nigeria. Data collection was aided by the cooperation
of chief executive officers of companies and their workers
who gave their time and knowledge in completing the questionnaires.

Most of the chapters in the book have been published as UNU-MERIT
discussion papers and journal articles and therefore have been enriched
