The Third International Conference on the Neurohypophysis was held in the new Conference
Centre at the Institute of Animal Physiology, Babraham, Cambridge, on 14-16th
September 1982. This volume contains the papers of all the main contributors to the proceedings
and also one from Dr. D. Richter who, although an invited participant, was prevented at
the last minute from attending.
The Conference was sponsored by the International Society for Neuroendocrinology whose
representatives, B. Donovan (U.K.) and J.D. Vincent (France), served on the Programme
Committee. Other members of the Committee were B.A. Cross (U.K. Chairman), J.J.
Dreifuss (Switzerland), W.H. Sawyer (U.S.A.), L. Share (U.S.A.) and D. de Wied (The
Netherlands).
The local executive committee comprised B.A. Cross (Chairman), R.E.J. Dyball, A.P.F.
Flint and G. Leng (Secretary), and they were supported by numerous colleagues at Babraham
who assisted with. the scientific. social and secretarial work of the Conference.
