Assembler language programming is a relatively complex programming language that necessitates the learning of machine architecture and structure.
For that reason it is somewhat more difficult to teach than the higher level
languages.
Because of the complexities of the language and the need to learn about
machine configuration, the textbooks in this field are generally inadequate.
Many computer language books suffer from a reference manual approach,
which concentrates on rules rather than applications. This approach is
particularly distressing in assembler textbooks, since this subject requires far more
explanation and illustration than do other languages.
