Название: Garner and Klintworth's pathobiology of ocular disease
Авторы: Klintworth G., Garner A.
Аннотация:
A quarter of a century has passed since the first
edition of Pathobiology of Ocular Disease: A Dynamic
Approach was published. This successful, unique text,
which is edited by two of the very few pathologists
who have devoted major portions of their careers to
ophthalmic pathology, has now gone into a third
edition after a lapse of more than a decade. Unlike
most books on ophthalmic pathology, this one devotes
a large amount of space to a consideration of the
etiology and pathogenesis of the diseases that afflict
the tissues of the eye and its adnexa, as well as the
visual pathways within the central nervous system.
The current status of knowledge about the common
blinding diseases of cataract, glaucoma, age-related
maculopathy, and diabetic retinopathy is reviewed,
but the vast numbers of infectious, immunologic,
metabolic, toxic, degenerative, neoplastic, vascular,
traumatic, and genetic diseases are also considered.
By covering the embryologic development of the eye,
the nature of ocular developmental anomalies can be
appreciated.
