Название: Carbohydrate Chemistry Volume 9
Автор: Brimacombe J.
Аннотация:
This Report, the ninth in the series, covers the literature available to us between
mid-January 1975 and midJanuary 1976. Once again every effort has been made
to limit the size of the Report to roughly 500 pages, in the hope that this will keep
its price in check: we have resisted the temptation to cover the carbohydrate
literature selectively, feeling that the interests of our readers are best served by
the comprehensive coverage achieved in past Reports.
As has been our policy in previous years, Abstracts of the American Chemical
Society Meeting, Dissertation Abstracts, and the patent literature have not been
abstracted. The abbreviation ‘Bn’ is again used throughout to denote the benzyl
group.
This is the last Report for which we will have the benefit of Dr. N. A. Hughes’s
expert reporting: we are indebted to him for many notable contributions over the
past three years. Dr. B. J. Catley has joined our team of Reporters for Part 11.
We thank Dr. L. C. N. Tucker for reading and commenting on the whole of
Part I, and Mrs. Alice Duncan, Miss Moira Endersby, and Miss Lynda Esplin for
typing considerable proportions of this Report. The diagrams on pages 378
and 386 are reproduced with the kind permission of The American Chemical
Society and that on page 430 with the kind permission of Elsevier Scientific
Publishing Company.
Finally, it is a pleasure to acknowledge the invaluable assistance provided by
Philip Gardam and his staff at the Chemical Society in the production of this
Report.
