In accordance with our now-established policy, most of the chapters in the
current Volume (42) comprise Critical Reviews (covering the last few years)
of important areas of Inorganic chemistry and Materials.
The emphasis is on ‘newer’ techniques and emerging scientific areas,
although some more traditional areas are also represented. An in-depth
description of the technique is given, where it is considered to be important
for the future of this area. These include NMR diffusion spectroscopy (by
Paul Pregosin) and Terahertz spectroscopy (the ‘old’ far Infrared) (by Axel
Zeitler). Other topics include Photelectron, NQR, Quasi-elastic neutron,
Raman and electrical Impedance spectroscopies. These are all applied
to current ‘hot’ topics in inorganic chemistry; Ionic Liquids, Fuels cells,
Catalysis for Energy conversion, Carbon nanotubes and Archeological
remains
