For many years, the clinical community, especially pediatricians, have sus-pected an association of pulmonary infection with asthma. The object of thismatter has been primarily focused on the possible link between asthma andrespiratory syncytial virus (RSV), but questions have been raised about the roleof bacterial organisms as well
