This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third International Symposium on Biomedical Simulation, ISBMS 2006, held in Zurich, Switzerland in July 2006.

The 12 revised full papers and 11 poster papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 37 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on simulation of biophysical processes, systems and applications, and anatomical modeling and tissue properties.
