This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the First International Workshop on Digital Watermarking, IWDW 2002, held in Seoul, Korea in November 2002.

The 19 revised full papers presented together with two invited papers were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement from 64 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on fundamentals, new algorithms, watermarking unusual content, fragile watermarking, robust watermarking, and adaptive watermarking.
