Probability, Banach spaces and their interplay have attracted the attention of the mathematical community since the early sixties. A number of mathematicians at the University of Zarapoza have been interested in this subject for some years and a Conference on Probability and Banach spaces, attended by probabilists and analysts from several countries, was held at this University in June 1986.
