All green plants (terrestrial and aquatic) work as a 'natural pollutant sink' on earth intercepting dust and pollutants from air. This fact has been long recognised especially for the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide (C02) which is sequestered by green plants in the process of photosynthesis.
