This book has been written for Go players who wish to reach first or second dan strength. It is assumed that the reader knows the rules of the game and the most elementary tactics. For those who wish to obtain a book which covers these elementary facets of the game, we highly recommend "Go for Beginners" by Iwamoto, which covers many elementary situations which have not been included in this book.
The main subjects, studied in this book, are tesuji, handicap fuseki (opening strategy) and joseki (corner opening formulae). There is also a chapter on yose (end-game) and one on even-game fuseki.
