This monograph is connected with the theory of the transmission and processing of information. The work attempts to define mathematically the concept of the complexity of a tabulation problem (the construction of tables for functions) by using concrete problems as examples. The formal definition of a concept of this kind, apart from its purely theoretical interest, is required in machine mathematics, and, in the first instance, in the automatization of programming.
