The book covers three broad areas. It begins with a non mathematical appreciation of astrophysics, particularly with regard to the radio frequency spectrum. The objects discussed are mostly limited to those that are of interest to amateur astronomers interested in studying radio sources. These include the Sun, Jupiter, meteors, and the Milky Way Galaxy. The Sun and Jupiter are the strongest of all the natural radio sources outside Earth. These are easy to detect with simple equipment of the type described here. With a little extra effort it will be possible to detect the noise background emitted from our Milky Way Galaxy, and even some of the discreet sources such as the Crab Nebula, Cassiopeia A, and Centaurus A.
