At the time the interpretation and, more generally, foundations of quantum theory are undergoing yet another period of discussion within the worldwide physics community, the Russian language literature fails to give a proper coverage to the subject. A step to remedy this is a review paper by M B Menskil, "Quantum mechanics: new experiments, new applications, and new formulations of old problems", recently published in our journal (Phys.— Usp. 170 (6) 631 (2000)). In the editorial preface to the paper we committed ourselves to publishing our readers' letters on the subject. Some papers have already been received and are offered below. It should be noted however that, to secure the freedom of discussion, the papers were not peer reviewed and the editorial board has therefore no responsibility for their content — an approach which, within limits, seems to be reasonable at this point of time.
